Loop Returns vs Redo vs Narvar vs Happy Returns vs Return Go: reporting, bundled suites and switching costs

Five returns platforms, judged on what each one reports, how much of a suite comes with it, and what it takes to move off.

The short answer

Pick Loop Returns if you want exchange-first returns plus tracking, fraud and delivery promise from one vendor and can live with its monthly tiers. Pick Redo if returns software at no license cost matters more than keeping your marketing and support stack separate, since the suite comes with it. Pick Narvar if delivery promise and tracking are the real project and returns ride along. Pick Happy Returns if box-free drop-off at Return Bars is the feature your shoppers will actually notice, and Return Go if you want a returns-focused portal with published per-return pricing and a short implementation.

Loop Returns

Loop covers returns and exchanges as the core, with Shop Now and Instant Exchange on the Advanced plan, and around them sit Tracking, Fraud, Promise and Checkout+. Checkout+ is a free plan, but eligibility depends on order and return volume, so brands that do not qualify land on a monthly tier. Loop lists Shopify go-live in 15 to 45 days, support 24 hours a day five days a week, and an uptime guarantee.

Two things push brands off it. Reporting is the first: ops and finance teams want product-level data inside the returns tool and hit walls getting it there. Cost is the second. Service complaints come up too, as does the sense that the product has not moved and suggestions do not land. AG Jeans and Baltic Born both run Loop Returns & Exchanges on their storefronts.

Redo

Redo lists returns, claims, warranties, shipping and fulfillment software and chargeback representment as free, then charges usage on the rest: per order for checkout optimization, per tracked order, a share of recovered revenue for Recover. The returns product includes an AI exchange agent, variant-level analytics and a monthly AI returns analysis report. The free returns line is the reason brands move to it from a paid incumbent, and it does cut cost.

The trade is the suite. Redo sells email and SMS, checkout testing, fulfillment and AI support agents, and the sales motion pushes the whole catalog. Buyers who only wanted returns find that tiring, and brands that adopted the live chat and agentic side were unhappy with it. If you are happy with your help desk and your ESP, say so early and keep the scope narrow. Redo is on the storefronts of 1UP Nutrition and Allbirds.

Narvar

Narvar is post-purchase first. Promise puts predictive delivery dates on product, cart and checkout pages. Track and Notify handle the tracking page and delivery messaging. Shield covers returns, exchanges and eligibility rules, and Assist handles delivery claims. The Shopify returns app has a free plan and the Built for Shopify badge; other pricing is not listed, and demos are requested through the website.

If the brief is delivery dates and tracking, Narvar earns the call. If the brief is returns, the complaints are price, a return flow that feels awkward and slow service. Brands also stay because email and notification integrations are already wired to it, which is itself a switching cost worth pricing before you sign.

Happy Returns

Happy Returns, a UPS company, pairs a branded return and exchange portal with the Return Bar network, where shoppers drop items with no box and no label. It also covers buy online return in-store, TikTok Shop returns, and fraud prevention through item tag scanning, AI risk scoring and Return Vision audits. The Shopify listing shows a free plan and a Plus tier at a fixed monthly price, with shipping charges on top. Its app rating is 3.3 from 29 reviews, the lowest of the five.

The operational catch is timing: with drop-off returns, refunds can land before the goods reach your warehouse, so set guardrails on refund triggers and return windows before launch. Brands shipping delicate goods also balk at third-party handling. Happy Returns integrates with Loop, and ReturnGO lists Happy Returns as an integration, so Return Bars can be an add-on rather than a platform swap.

Return Go

ReturnGO is returns-focused: a branded self-service portal, policy rules, automations, labels and QR codes, variant and product exchanges, Shop Now exchanges, store credit and gift cards, plus tracking and a warranty portal. Pricing is published: a free plan, Premium and Pro monthly tiers with included returns and a per-extra-return rate, and Enterprise by quote. Shopify implementation is listed at one to three days when third-party integrations are already in place.

It covers the standard returns job, which suits brands that want their marketing and support stacks untouched. The weak spot is the shopper-facing flow: it can still confuse customers and generate tickets, so test the portal copy with real orders before rollout. Be aware that the App Store app does not include all Enterprise features, the 14-day trial applies only to Shopify self-service plans, and a dedicated account manager comes with Enterprise.

How to decide

IfFinance needs product-level return data in reports every month
ThenAsk each vendor to produce a report from your own catalog during the trial, not a demo dataset. Redo lists variant-level returns analytics; ReturnGO and Happy Returns list analytics and reporting on their plans.
IfYou already like your ESP, help desk and tracking vendor
ThenShortlist Return Go or Narvar's returns app, and if you take Redo, agree in writing that the scope is returns only.
IfReturn shipping cost is the line item you are trying to cut
ThenCompare Redo's free returns plan against Loop's Checkout+, and check whether your order and return volume makes Checkout+ eligible at all.
IfDrop-off convenience is a selling point for your category
ThenAdd Happy Returns through its Loop integration or ReturnGO's Happy Returns integration instead of replacing your returns platform.
IfDelivery date accuracy on the product page is the bigger conversion lever
ThenLook at Narvar Promise or Loop Promise and treat returns as the secondary decision.
IfYou are already integrated with your current vendor's email and notifications
ThenPrice the rewiring work before the license savings. That integration work, not the contract, is what keeps brands in place.

Questions people ask

Which returns platform has the best reporting for a Shopify brand?

Redo lists variant-level returns analytics and a monthly AI returns analysis report on its free returns plan. ReturnGO and Happy Returns list analytics and reporting on their paid Shopify plans. Loop's reporting is a sticking point, in particular pulling full product data into returns reports, so run a real report against your own catalog before committing.

Is Redo really free for returns?

Redo lists returns, claims, warranties, shipping and fulfillment software and chargeback representment as free on its site. Other products are usage-priced, such as per order for checkout optimization, per tracked order for tracking, and a share of recovered revenue for Recover. The App Store lists Fulfillment monthly, and Checkout Optimizer and Email and SMS at a monthly fee plus usage.

Can I use Happy Returns alongside Loop or ReturnGO instead of switching?

Yes. Happy Returns lists Loop as an integration, and ReturnGO lists Happy Returns as an integration. That lets you add box-free Return Bar drop-off to the returns platform you already run rather than migrating the whole flow.
