Treet

Branded resale marketplaces for Shopify brands (P2P, trade-in, off-price, returns)

Treet provides branded resale solution.

Treet is a branded resale platform. It lets brands run their own secondhand marketplace instead of losing customers to third-party resale sites. Brands can mix peer-to-peer resale, trade-ins, off-price sales of excess stock and resale of returns. Sellers can take cash or brand credit, which brings them back to shop. Treet says programs launch in days and its marketing engine drives engagement. More than 250 brands use Treet. Portland Leather Goods drove $2M in resale revenue in 10 months.

What Treet does for Shopify brands

  • Customer-to-customer resale on your branded marketplace captures GMV that otherwise leaks to eBay & Poshmark
  • 70% of sellers opt for store credit, then spend it plus extra dollars on full-price catalog
  • 51% of resale shoppers net new to brand, often graduate to full-price buyers
  • Keeps existing customers in the loop selling & re-buying instead of churning

Overview

Treet sells a branded resale platform that lets brands run their own secondhand store. It covers peer-to-peer resale, trade-in, off-price sale of excess inventory, and rerouting returns to resale. It is meant to help brands recover margin from returns and overstock and keep resale customers on their own site.

For Shopify brands

  • Treet connects to Shopify through an API, so the product catalog, customer order history, product descriptions, images and prices fill in the listing flow for sellers.
  • Brands can upload excess inventory, returns, samples and discontinued or damaged items through Treet's Shopify app to sell on their resale site.
  • Seller store credit is issued as gift cards that appear in the brand's Shopify dashboard alongside its other gift cards and can be used on the main site.

How it works

Customers click "Sell your item" on the brand's resale site, create an account, and submit a listing, which is reviewed within 24 hours before going live. Treet sends the brand a payout when a brand-direct item is received and verified, plus biweekly disbursements for peer sales. The site describes an average of 22 days from onboarding kick-off to first dollar in.
